Lake Bled Slovenia
Beautiful, idyllic, serene, and captivating.
Lake Bled Slovenia has a campground on the far side of the lake. This was where we spent our last two nights in our camper. And what a beautiful spot to enjoy camping, hiking, photography, and exploring.
There is a trail all around the lake for walking or biking. Part of the trail is a boardwalk right at the waters edge. We enjoyed walking the 3.5 miles around the lake with changing views of the stunning island.
The lake has ducks, swans, fisherman, boaters, and even swimmers. We were surprised to see a few brave souls swimming in the lake. Especially, since we had to break out our winter coats for the first time in a long time.
Every section of the trail seems picture worthy. This place has been on my list of places to see, for a long time. But I never know whether a place will be as nice in real life, or whether a photographer got lucky with a special shot. I am happy to report that Lake Bled Slovenia is just as beautiful as I had hoped!
There are multiple places around the lake to rent boats to take to the island. We also enjoyed exploring the town of Bled.
Despite the cooler weather which was a big change from the warm Croatian coast, we loved the fall color and the atmosphere of idyllic Lake Bled Slovenia.
This is a popular destination for tourists, but since we were there in off season, it was not too busy. I would recommend it as a must see destination if you are anywhere near Slovenia. It is one of the places that seemed to bring peace and joy to our souls.
What a gorgeous spot and beautiful little island! It seems almost unreal, like something out of a fairy tale storybook. I’m sure glad you didn’t miss this so you could share it with us.
It was a very surreal place to visit. It has been on Nancy’s must see list for a while, and I’m glad we finally made it there. The walks around the lake are beautiful.
