We love camping by the Sea! At San Polo in Bale, Croatia, we are camping only about 50 meters from the sea. Ahhh, this is living!
I love this photo, (above) I can practically feel the warmth of the sun on my skin. By the way, the beach here is clothing optional! This really adds to the feeling of freedom.
In the last week, the campground has cleared out. The busy tourist season is finally over. And we are enjoying having so much of the beach to ourselves.
There is something about the fresh salty sea air that is good for my soul. I should do some research and find out if there is actually some health benefits. It wouldn’t surprise me if there was.
I am noticing that whenever I write about the sea, I am inspired with a hunger for poetry. I have found some quotes to share with you.
“My soul is full of longing
for the secret of the sea,
and the heart of the great ocean
sends a thrilling pulse through me.”
― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
“We need the tonic of wildness…At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.”
― Henry David Thoreau, Walden: Or, Life in the Woods
In the evening, as the clouds gathered, we took a stroll through the campground, along the beach.
Jumping pictures are just more awesome than posed shots. Don’t you agree!
My sweet little girl is growing up so fast.
I just can’t resist the charm of my Luie’s grin!
Daddy teaches Luie to skip rocks. I think that Luie would be happy throwing rocks into the sea all day.
Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Isaac said “oh my goodness – look at Summer!” LOL Lucy said “I only think of them and when they are coming back” hahaha. 🙂 Love the beach! Miss you guys.
Oh, that is great! We got a kick out of Isaac’s comment. Miss you guys too!
