The Beautiful Cathedral in Seville Spain
Walking up to the Cathedral is quite impressive. It is ginormous! Come to find out, it is the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world, and the third largest church in the world. We walked all the way around it and it is about the size of a city block.
We did not realize until we were already in Seville, that the Cathedral also has the tomb of Christopher Columbus.
We later learned that Christopher Columbus spent time studying and preparing in Seville for his final trip to the Americas.
The Giralda, is the bell tower of the Cathedral. It stands over 340 feet high. I was worried about the amount of steps to climb, but interestingly, it was not steps but ramps nearly all the way to the top.
There were little windows to look out as you climbed up. Great views of the Cathedral and of Seville.
Dave used his long arms to get a picture of the whole family from the top of the bell tower. What a fun day and a great way to learn some history!
Amazing! Thanks for the pics!
Glad you enjoy them. We are having a great time. Hope all is going well for you.
