It is always fun to learn something new.  Through this blog I have learned many things about customizing web pages, using themes, adding plugins, seo, etc.  Today I wanted to learn how to upload a series of photos into one image to give some animation.  This can also be done with a video.  There are different ways to do this, but I will list the way I did it.  Also, keep in mind that you can use this for facebook too.

1.  Take a series of photos or video and upload to your computer.

2.  Go to http://gickr.com/

In the white area where it says Select images, Hit the first Browse button.  Go into your computers photo file and choose your first image to upload.  Keep in mind that you can upload up to 10 photos.  Just keep hitting the “add one more picture” link until you have all the photos you want.  Then hit the “continue” button at the  bottom right side of the white area.  It takes several minutes for the program to turn your photos into a gif file.

3.  Once it is finished you will see how the animation turned out. You now have 3 choices.  -Download the file to your computer, BB code, or image link

You can copy and paste the image link into your web page, BUT you may need to edit first.

All of my photos were in portrait mode, and the gif was created in landscape mode, so that the pictures were horizontal instead of vertical.  If this happens to you you can rotate your image by using another free online site,

4.  http://www140.lunapic.com/editor/

Copy and paste the image link (URL) into the url box and hit GO.

A column of tools will come up on the left side of the page, icon of the two arrows in a circle is the rotate button.  Just click until you get it the way you want it.  Then look for the link at the bottom of your photos called the Impur code.  You will be given a choice of three image codes.  I used the direct image URL

That’s it!  Once you have your URL, just copy and paste where you want it!

We had fun jumping at the Botanical Garden playground today.  Some of the animation in our gif images are blurry because we were moving so quickly that our original photos were blurry.  But your gif images will turn out better when your original photos are in focus.

Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Easter like we did.  Summer surprised us with a big breakfast of eggs with tomatoes and peppers, pancakes, oatmeal with fruit and nuts, and lemon muffins.  Then we had a little Easter egg hunt and walked to the Botanical gardens for the afternoon.  Ahhh, life is good!  Good exercise, good food, and great family!  Happy Easter to you all!
