Some things are hard to resist, and for me that includes swimming.  Even if it happens to be only 60 degrees outside.  🙂 So, as soon as I found a pool in Andalusia I was thrilled!  Turns out its cold…  However, swimming in an unheated pool in Spain in November is not as cold as swimming at the beaches in California in June!  I know, crazy!  But, I think it would have been easier to go swimming if it had been as cold as California!  In California, the water was so cold it was numbing.  So, you couldn’t feel how cold you were after a while.  Whereas, in this pool it was freezing but not quite numbing freezing.  As in, you can’t forget the cold.  🙂

As soon as Luie and I got in the water people who were having lunch on their terrace heard us and leaned over their rails to watch us!  Every time Luie would dunk himself in the water or I would swim a lap they would all applaud us!!!   Yes, it was freezing and crazy….  But, I love swimming so I do it anyways.  And, of course the hot shower, cupcake, and hot chocolate made it all better when I got back inside. 🙂   Brrrrr….. From Spain!

  1. hahaha. Sounds like my kids. Isaac will swim in the coldest water and love it! I love water & swimming but it has to be warm to be enjoyable for me. 🙂

  2. How cool that the people applauded! We’re trying not to turn the furnace on and just stay warm with the the wood burning stove. We gave in when it was 58 degrees inside the house. Good for you to be able to do it.

    1. Summer’s reply: As I was going down to the pool, I thought I could do it, but I chickened out when we got to the pool. Then Luie jumped in first, and I figured, if he could do it, I better do it!
