Fuengirola is located on the beach, so it is expected that it is a touristy beach town. We were hoping for a sunny day to explore the town, but the forecast said rain. Sure enough it was heavily overcast when we arrived. We first took care of some business and got a notarization at the US consulate. Then we enjoyed browsing around the little shops. We found a shop that made keys. Dave has been wanting to get another key made since only one of our camper keys works. So we got our new key with the help of our little translator, Summer. Dave was so happy, we went straight to the camper to try out the key. It worked great unlocking the doors and starting the camper. But when he tried to pull the key out it was stuck. He worked jiggling, wiggling, and pulling for about 10 minutes before he decided he needed to go back to the key shop and get help. One of the guys walked out to the camper and jiggled, etc, with a wire inside with the key. Still no luck. Now this is the time when Dave would normally get really stressed. But he was handling it pretty well. The guy who was trying to get the key out finally gave up and said he would have to get his father to help. The father came out with a fine wire and stuck it in with the key and wiggled for a couple minutes and finally got it! Woo Hoo! He shaved and sanded down the new key for a while then checked it several times to make sure it worked and came out!
After that little adventure, we decided to enjoy the rest of the day down at the beach.
How cute is that? Little Luie trying to stand just like daddy!
Looking for shells!
The sun came out and the blue sky reflected so nicely on the water. It ended up being a great day! But the best part, was seeing Dave so relaxed.
“Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” – Miriam Beard
Luie’s legs are going to have to grow a bit to match Daddy’s. That is a precious picture.
that looks like a wonderful place!
